Herons Creek, Kendall and The Old Bottlebutt Tree

We travel to Herons Creek where we are met by our tour guide Martin Parish who will take us around all the areas of interest before we enjoy morning tea and a presentation in the old church. From here we move into the Camden River area at the poet’s village of Kendall. We have time to peruse the craft shop at the station or grab a bargain at the op shop. We have lunch in the local Services Club. We remain in the Herons Creek area this afternoon. This is a newby for us – we will visit the old bottlebutt tree deep in the forest. It is a magnificent bloodwood with a diameter of 16 metres. The oldest one in the southern hemisphere. The track is an easy 250 metres with toilets on site. We will supply refreshing water. Our last inevitable stop today is at Vickers Fudge on a different creek – then its home James!!

Heading north with our first visit being a tour and morning tea at the Eungai Buffalo farm. Enjoy the serenity of the countryside with views from the verandah. Delicious ice-creams available at own discretion.
From here we meander through the coastal villages of Stuarts Point, Grassy Heads to Scotts Head – check out the growth of this town. We have a scrumptious lunch at Club Scotts!
Mid-afternoon we meander along Sorrell Creek to visit Macksville and view the new Phillip Hughes bridge across the Nambucca River. We then have a tasting of delicious macadamia nuts with Vince at the famous Mac Nuts. A comfort stop at South Kempsey if needed before arriving home around 4.00pm.

Cundletown Historical Museum

Heading south to the Manning where we visit the quaint Cundletown Historical Museum. It is fully run and funded by volunteers and is a credit to their dedication. While here we have morning tea. Now we take off to explore the islands and waterways of the lower Manning – still suffering from the effects of the devastating bushfires.
We arrive at the little village of Manning Point for lunch at the bowling club.
Mid-afternoon we return via Mitchell and Oxley Islands to view the area around Winda Woppa. We have a comfort stop at the South Taree Services before arriving back in Port beating the early darkness of Autumn

Coffs Harbour Frog Zoo

We have a morning tea break at Nambucca Heads before we arrive at the Southern Cross University Marine study centre. Here we have an informative talk and tour of this amazing facility where we can get up-close and personal with all different types of sea life. Now our next venue is new to us and very unique. We visit the Frog Zoo at Boambee. Here there are housed in around 60 exhibition cases are frogs from all around the world living in unique environments. Our host Peter will give a detailed explanation and you can get up close and personal with them…..so hop to it!! Of course, Pete is a chef as well and we have lunch onsite. NO frogs legs!
After our visit we head for home via Toormina & Sawtell with a comfort stop at South Kempsey if required.

We travel to Chatham for our first stop at the ever-popular craft centre and shop – run by Elsie! Here we can purchase hand made goods and enjoy a homemade morning tea.
We are then off to meet Marie and Darren on board the MV Manning Cruiser. Marie will have the boat all dressed up in Christmas Décor. You better wear some decorations yourself. A scrumptious Christmas lunch will be served, and the boat is fully licensed. It is also completely enclosed making the day cosy & warm. We now cruise the Manning with great commentary from Darren.
Mid-afternoon we return to Port after an enjoyable Christmas in July on the Manning.
